There are two free tools listed here that can help teachers find and level books for their classroom library. The first tool is the Teacher Book Wizard Widget from scholastic. It is a great tool for leveling a classroom library. Teachers can use it to find the guided reading level for book titles, search for book-based lesson plans, author information, discussion guides, book talks and more. Just enter the title for the book to retrieve all the information. http://www.scholastic.com/bookwizard/
The second tool is a free leveled books database from Portland School District. You can conduct a search to find book titles on a specific grade level. It also allows you to find out the reading level for any specific title. Great to have both these tools! Check them out. http://www.pps.k12.or.us/instruction-c/literacy/leveled_books/
